Winged Things FULL

July 14-18

Our creativity will take flight this week as birds and winged insects are the inspiration for mosaics, mobiles, mixed media art, fibre art, and up-cycled art, and nature illustration at the Museum of Nature!

Forest Flora and Fauna FULL

July 21-25

Trees, flowers, animals, insects, and fungi will inspire our projects this week! We’ll explore forest life through mixed-media art and collage, sculpture, printmaking, needle felting, embossed metal art, and observational drawing at Mud Lake!

Mythical and Magical

July 28-Aug 1

A week of magical art making inspired by the natural world! We’ll have fun creating fantasy characters, dragon eggs, pocket gnomes, and art nichos, and dreaming up our own mythical and magical art ideas! Field trip TBD.

Water Works FULL

Aug 11-15

This week we’ll dive into some awesome art projects, making aquatic creatures with papier-mâché and wet felting. We’ll also create with watery art mediums like watercolours, splatter painting, and suminagashi! Plus we’ll take a trip to Remic Rapids to see John Ceprano’s river stone sculptures and make some sculptures of our own!

Plant Power

Aug 18-22

This week we will harness the power of plants to create handmade papers, plaster cast art, botanical prints, plant sculptures, and our own natural art supplies! Plus plein air painting at beautiful Maplelawn Garden!

Farm Art FULL

Aug 25-29

Agricultural life will inspire our creativity this week!  We’ll enjoy painting, sculpture, fibre arts, and mixed media, and we’ll use various farm products like wool, beeswax, eggs, corn husks, and fruits to make art! Plus we’ll take a trip to a farm for some observational drawing (either the Agricultural Museum or Mādahòkì Farm -TBD).
